The biography of Robert Vallier, President of the Ufosa Foundation and Pilot of the Unity Flight.

ROBERT VALLIER is a successful international businessman, with various interests around the world.  In addition to his daily workload, he continues to develop one of his great loves - flying.

As a Pilot he trained on Piper Warrior aircraft in the UK and the USA.  In 2006 he developed the Ufosa Foundation and its Unity Flight Of South Africa [Ufosa], launched in 2008.

“The Ufosa flight is great fun and a personal challenge for me”, he says, with a broad smile and a great twinkle of enthusiasm in his eye. “Flying in South African airspace with a target of 30 airstrips spread all over the nation... that takes a little effort.  And if we can raise some funds along the way, well that makes it all very worthwhile.”

Robert Vallier was born in London and spent most of his early business life in music management, with international touring and recording an everyday part of his routine.

But the sad and untimely death of a close relative, with whom he had worked for 22 years in the industry he loved, along with the death of his own mother the year before, had a profound effect on him.

After a period away, he returned to business, opening a London office as a new beginning, and started to concentrate on development, expansion and business creation... and the pseudonym for Robert of 'The Phoenix' - a mythical bird rising anew from the ashes - was born.

Sir Patrick Moore - TV personality, international best-selling author and Great Britain's leading stargazer - has been a friend and client for many years.

In Theatre, Entertainment, Public Relations and Publishing, he created the
Into Space! series of lectures and books with Sir Patrick Moore, which involved 5 national tours of the UK, consisting of 100 theatres per tour.  These were immensely successful and popular with both the public and media alike.  Some 250,000 people passed through the gates to attend these shows.  The concept set a precedent for others to follow.

Robert has considerable experience in both the PR industry and in the buying and selling of property, which has left him today with a healthy portfolio and a property development company.   His recent property acquisitions include the purchase in the USA of 35 acres of land for development, and in the UK of two town houses on 5 floors.  He has a home in California, and an English home of 7-acres.  A new area of interest is Spain. 

In 2003 he financed the launch of www.globalbuzz-sa.com, a website based around South Africa.  In 2006 he conceived the concept of his Ufosa Foundation, an international charity dedicated to bettering the lives of the underprivileged in South Africa by bringing aid in Education, Family Wellbeing and Health.  Its inaugural Unity Flight of South Africa, in which Robert flew a light-aircraft to the first 15 of 30 communities of the Ufosa Programme as  a high-profile fundraiser, is an annual event.  He is working on launching a media production company in 2008.

Robert Vallier has been married twice, and is now divorced.  As a single-parent he raised the 3 children from his first wife.  Although Robert's international travelling often obliges him to re-arrange his domestic life, he manages to be together with all his children frequently.
