So far, our Libraries have
impacted on and helped well over 5,500 needy children.
This is truly an international
effort and collaboration to help in Schools.
Books are donated to
Ufosa in the UK by school
children, libraries and publishers. They are then catalogued - an involved process where each book is given
an individual number, and its title, author and description are entered onto our computerised filing
system.
They are then boxed carefully and
stored at our Warehouse.
When the current number has
reached about 4,000 books, the computer file is examined and a selection of 1,000 books is
made. This is to ensure that a school doesn't receive multi-copies of the same book, and indeed
to check that each book that is sent is appropriate for the school and student age.

When the new Library is ready, we
contact our Sponsors BRITISH AIRWAYS. The books are taken to the BA terminal at London's
Heathrow Airport, and then BA fly them to South Africa where Ufosa
(SA) staff collect them and store them.
We then distribute them personally
to our selected schools.
